Removing Melted Rubber Band on Dolls Hair

So recently, I bought a preloved Jenny doll online. And while I was gushing over how cute she is in real life, I was shocked to find a patch of melted rubber on top of her hair. Its stuck on her like a gum that it made me helpless and frustrated to just chop her hair off.

Good thing I didn't though, 'cause a quick search on google and advise from my friends. I manage to removed it with just these two common items

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Conditioner
  • Comb (flea comb if possible)

PROCEDURE:

1. Wash the dolls hair with lukewarm water

2. Apply a generous amount of conditioner on the part where the melted rubber band is. Leave it to soak for an hour or so.

3. After an hour, do not rinse the conditioner off. Get a comb instead and gently brush the rubber band out. Work on sections and hold the hair securely while brushing to avoid any hair fall.

4. Keep brushing until the rubber band is gone then rinse the hair and let it dry.

It may looks easy but you need to be careful and patient when cleaning off the melted rubber. Otherwise, you'll end up ripping the doll's hair.

Incidents like this do happens, either from the climate or the passage of time. Hopefully, this simple trick helps the next time you spot a melted rubber band on your dolls hair.
