Easy DIY: Make a Kitty Bonnet for Blythes

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make this cute kitty bonnet. Perfect for your blythes, pullip or tangkou dolls.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • faux fur
  • paper & pencil
  • ribbon
  • scissors
  • needle & thread

HOW TO:

1. First step is to make a pattern. Place your blythe doll or in my case my tangkou doll sideways on a piece of paper and begin tracing its head. After you have the size, start drawing around it to look like a bonnet kinda like the picture below.

2. If your satisfied with the pattern, cut and start tracing it onto the faux fur or the cloth of your choice. This will leave you with 4 patterns (2 for faux fur and 2 for lining). Don't forget to add extra allowances.

3. Next, sew the patterns together then connect the lining to the fur with the good sides facing each other. Stop when your half way to the end and flip them from the inside. With this you finally have a bonnet

sew the bottom after flipping it over

4. For the cat ears, cut 2 triangles from the faux fur. Fold the triangle good side to good side and sew the one part closed then flip it. Do this to the other triangle to make 2 small cat ears, then sew them both on the bonnet. Be sure to try it on the blythe doll first to know where to place the cat ears.

5. Cut 2 pieces of ribbon and sew them on the ends of the bonnet. Then add a cute bow for the last touch and your done!

Making a bonnet for dolls is a lot simple than it looks, you can even change it up into other animal ears ie. rabbits or panda. Hope you like this tutorial and happy crafting!
