I know its a bit late but to celebrate the occasion, here are three easy Barbie clothes you can make that are heart-shaped theme. I think this has been long overdue for me given how many couple outfits I made for Barbie year after year.</span></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;">So, get your materials ready cause if there's one thing that Barbie loves, it's her love for</span></span><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;"> fashion.</span></p><p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: left;"><br /></span></p><h4><span style="font-family: inherit;">Materials:</span></h4><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div><div><p></p><p></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">bond paper</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">ruler</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">pencil</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">scissors</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">needle & thread</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial;">the fabric of your choice</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial;">lace or ribbon</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial;">embroidery thread</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial;">white glue</span></li></ul></div><div><p><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">So below are 3 heart-shaped outfits you can make for your Barbie. Some are easier than others but best believe they will all be cute.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p></div><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">1.</span> Of course, the first on our list is a literal heart-shaped top. I saw a lot of different variations of heart tops last year, so I just know I had to make one for Barbie. Given its unique shape, I brace myself for the hours it will take to make this. But to my surprise, I actually got it on my first try (I guess years' worth of my sewing experience finally paid off)</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpeM0-3Lg7tFwOB6MyNnUmB_nDl8ReHcdXzK2lwOQ0NDjhhfoVysqAVFukzQ7qSrfcdA3JqVHN1GhC-EkFA-afw6bXsrW7IRBKsTfbHb1MaMgx5cd4HOzwTd6SZVogUqNHHzcuilcLG37TNK_xeGbSbwPuDJuS4wbBYzyv5DM4i57PuvEspTxuDmc-9w/s2048/Heart%20shaped%20Barbie%20Outfits%20.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Barbie Heart shaped Outfit" border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpeM0-3Lg7tFwOB6MyNnUmB_nDl8ReHcdXzK2lwOQ0NDjhhfoVysqAVFukzQ7qSrfcdA3JqVHN1GhC-EkFA-afw6bXsrW7IRBKsTfbHb1MaMgx5cd4HOzwTd6SZVogUqNHHzcuilcLG37TNK_xeGbSbwPuDJuS4wbBYzyv5DM4i57PuvEspTxuDmc-9w/w400-h300/Heart%20shaped%20Barbie%20Outfits%20.jpg" title="Barbie Heart-shaped Outfit" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">I had so much fun making this heart top that I made two variations of the same top. So, if you want to make one yourself definitely download my pattern and check out the video tutorial, I made on YouTube.</span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="color: #800180;">Video Tutorial:</span> <i><u><a href="https://youtu.be/Q3jGtxVQSIo?si=hK6LG_r2ucOIBRnw" style="background-color: #ead1dc;" target="_blank">Making Barbie a Heart-Shaped Top</a></u></i></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="color: #800180;">Pattern:</span><span><span style="background-color: #ead1dc;"> </span><span><u><i><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AjRS5hUZk30Rcp_LbMh3HIhKsTfd9JPn/view?usp=sharing" style="background-color: #ead1dc;" target="_blank">Barbie Heart Top Pattern</a></i></u><br /></span></span></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; text-align: center;"></span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><i><u style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2020/09/how-to-print-doll-pattern.html?m=1" target="_blank">How to Print Doll Patterns (The Right Way</a><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2020/09/how-to-print-doll-pattern.html?m=1" target="_blank">)</a></u></i></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">2.</span><span style="font-family: arial;"> What screams Valentine's more than a heart bag right? This second one I made is not exactly an outfit (more like a part of an outfit), but I included it here since it also follows the heart-shaped theme.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dbSc-QzsVAU" width="320" youtube-src-id="dbSc-QzsVAU"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><span style="font-family: arial;"><div style="text-align: justify;">This cute heart bag is not only a statement piece, but its also very easy to make. It is also a no-pattern DIY, which means you don't need to print any pattern to make this. You literally only need to draw a heart and that's it. I also made it into a convertible bag so that Barbie can use it as a handbag or a shoulder bag. </div></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"></p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">3.</span><span style="font-family: arial;"> Now if you want something subtle and not very in your face like the first two. I suggest you make this last one on this list, which is embroidering the heart. It might look like I'm joking but this is probably the easiest out of this list. You only need a thread and a needle, and you can just about do this to any Barbie clothes you want. Talk about versatility</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh18K3RFAt5LXwUveIP2duWLhZZpKNAHtdqzloCcoZ7LrA49Lcb3Kjh6IeHIotXFsZtmxKtU0gtweZvOiXgu0_dtNef9yKLWULS4rZy-MVqHdzmCKCAoy3IsTGMVrY5-fpR6EXwkc1jJI9rL8uTd0RXSue5KO27zkKaTQuSPXBqBvaq1ke-nAq64fB-Ig/s2201/barbie%20valentine%20shirt.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Barbie Ken Heart Shirt" border="0" data-original-height="1468" data-original-width="2201" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh18K3RFAt5LXwUveIP2duWLhZZpKNAHtdqzloCcoZ7LrA49Lcb3Kjh6IeHIotXFsZtmxKtU0gtweZvOiXgu0_dtNef9yKLWULS4rZy-MVqHdzmCKCAoy3IsTGMVrY5-fpR6EXwkc1jJI9rL8uTd0RXSue5KO27zkKaTQuSPXBqBvaq1ke-nAq64fB-Ig/w400-h266/barbie%20valentine%20shirt.jpg" title="Barbie and Ken Heart Shirt" width="400" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">And that's about it for this list, I hope you love the heart theme I'm going for this Valentines'. It's basically a half-circle dress, and how you made its pattern is by cutting a piece of bond paper. The dress is simple, but a little creativity can really make this dress amazing. Just customize it with beads and ribbons and you can create different outfits every time with just this one dress pattern.</span></p><p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: left;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj44qPomcMq-DFdVI0OqW-ZHlDWhYhodBTO398DNuyGruWLjdA_NuHqxBaw9LkbRijz1Sq4CSqJhAeY9BbLKy2oAytmnEspJlwOjv-do4hiQE7YCdJ4TziM3MGqJAZ4SD9BZSPF7080mXnuB8aS8gRgO8yufwKF_AQqMPQMXBFqYJ8fngLmBxWnwvc8vg/s2410/Easy%20no%20pattern%20barbie%20dress.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="easy barbie dress, barbie christmas dress, barbie dress, diy easy barbie dress" border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2410" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj44qPomcMq-DFdVI0OqW-ZHlDWhYhodBTO398DNuyGruWLjdA_NuHqxBaw9LkbRijz1Sq4CSqJhAeY9BbLKy2oAytmnEspJlwOjv-do4hiQE7YCdJ4TziM3MGqJAZ4SD9BZSPF7080mXnuB8aS8gRgO8yufwKF_AQqMPQMXBFqYJ8fngLmBxWnwvc8vg/w400-h251/Easy%20no%20pattern%20barbie%20dress.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 different styles, 1 dress pattern</div><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">A great example of this are my <u><a href="https://youtu.be/Y6nskU_7f7o?si=zl2qtxPtyTNwUkWI" target="_blank">Barbiecore inspired dress</a></u> and <u><a href="https://youtu.be/eXCdgEgWqkI?si=8zfkWsGhl2TsXG-h" target="_blank">Christmas dress</a>.</u> It's basically the same dress, but they give off completely different styles. Just adjust the length and width of the skirt to better fit the doll.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIEOmHYspiQ7gXAHSEnCwRFSRAPqkV2PO1i6eUvZluBFKx6L9mpOmN0lfo60jM-9WthPlVmwaHPvEpxAtGicE2EWVq7XTJ6-SlRtt4auPDzUhRJTP1jx9JCNRRFa73wgaTinGQPaoHs2zgAsSWOfXE3bDI268IU3k9Jon0QZg4uV0eGT7FfuPZ6FjVgw/s2504/Barbie%20pleated%20skirt.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="barbie pleated skirt, barbie skirt, curvy barbie, barbie" border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2504" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIEOmHYspiQ7gXAHSEnCwRFSRAPqkV2PO1i6eUvZluBFKx6L9mpOmN0lfo60jM-9WthPlVmwaHPvEpxAtGicE2EWVq7XTJ6-SlRtt4auPDzUhRJTP1jx9JCNRRFa73wgaTinGQPaoHs2zgAsSWOfXE3bDI268IU3k9Jon0QZg4uV0eGT7FfuPZ6FjVgw/w400-h241/Barbie%20pleated%20skirt.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Pleated skirt on a Curvy Barbie and Regular Barbie</div></div><span style="font-family: arial;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">And that's the end of this list. More specifically, how to stop the fabric from fraying. Working on such tiny clothes can be frustrating because a small rip in a fabric can ruin your work, let alone a fabric that frays. But have no fear, because I found 5 ways to prevent your doll's clothes from fraying for good.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">But first, why does fabric fray?</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">A fabric frays when the fibers in the fabric become loose. This happens when the fabric is cut, torn, or worn over time; the constant fabric manipulation causes the fibers to loosen and come apart. And once it starts to unravel, your clothes will fall apart, no matter how clean your stitches are, so it's always important to seal your raw edges.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><h4 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">1. Choosing the Fabric</span></h4><div><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;">Fabric comes in a lot of different types; some tend to fray more than others. I mostly group them into two: one that frays and one that doesn't. Choosing the right fabric eliminates the problem of fraying altogether. This is perfect for beginners, as they don't need to worry about raw edges coming apart and can just focus on sewing the clothes. The only downside to this is that it limits the fabric we can work on.</span></div><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">When selecting fabrics for your doll's clothes, it's important to choose fabric that is tightly woven and has a smooth texture, like cotton or polyester. These fabrics are less likely to fray than the more delicate ones, like silk or chiffon.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><div><h4><span style="font-family: inherit;">2. Overlock Stitch</span></h4><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Of course there will be instances where we do want to work on fabrics that fray; it's inevitable. And for that, what we can do is finish the edges with overlock stitches. You can use a serger or do a zigzag stitch using a sewing machine. But if you don't have any of those fancy machines, you can always sew it by hand. Below is a YouTube video I made showing how to sew an overlock stitch by hand.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Stitching the edges like this not only makes the doll clothes durable and long-lasting, but it also makes them clean and professional-looking. Something to keep in mind if you ever want to sell your doll's clothes.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></p><h4 style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/3rpxaLN_Nfw" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></h4></div><div><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;">Now for the downside: overlocking stitches takes a lot of time to do, especially if you're doing it by hand. So if you ever plan on using this method for your next project, sit back and watch some Netflix, because you'll be stitching for hours.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div><h4><span style="font-family: inherit;">3. Fray Check</span></h4></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial;">Fray check or fabric glue is a liquid seam sealant that many use to secure the threads and prevent fabric from fraying. Just apply a small amount of glue along the edges of the doll clothes and leave it to dry. It will then create a barrier that keeps the fabric intact. This is by far my favorite way to secure the edges because it's quick and easy to apply. It's a lot faster compared to the overlock stitching I mentioned before, and the good news is I can use this on any fabric, which means I can work on any fabric I want.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: arial;">One thing to note, although I'm not sure if it applies to all brands of fray check, is that it doesn't dry transparent. So the seam sealant you put on the edges is quite noticeable on darker fabrics.</span></div><div><br /></div></div><div><span style="font-family: arial;"><h4 style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><span style="font-family: inherit;">4. White Glue</span></h4><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you're broke like me or just don't have a fray check on hand, I found using white glue to be an effective seam sealant on the fabric. Just apply it thinly on the raw edges and wait for it to completely dry, and your edges are sealed and secured. But a few washes with water will cause the glue to fade over time, so you might have to reapply it again.</div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><span><h4 style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">5. Nail Polish</span></h4><span><div style="text-align: justify;"><div><br /></div><div>Another cheap alternative I have tried as a seam sealant is using clear nail polish. Just applying a small amount on the edges of the fabric helps stop the thread from unraveling. It's actually much more durable than the white glue, and it doesn't wear off as fast. But the problem is that it can take a long time to dry and it smells bad (after all, it's still nail polish). It can also make the fabric incredibly stiff, so be careful when applying it and only use small amounts.</div><div><br /></div><div><h4 style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">After Thoughts</span></h4></div><div><br /></div><div>In conclusion, there are several things you can do to prevent the fabric from fraying, from selecting the fabric to using different types of seam sealant. By applying one or two of these methods, you can assure your doll clothes will remain in good shape and last for a long time. Just remember to handle your doll clothes with care and to always be gentle when putting them on and off your dolls. With these tips in mind, you can keep your doll's clothes looking great and fray-free.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div></span><div style="text-align: center;">Thanks for reading!</div><p></p><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></span></div></span></div>justinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16442516584208687705noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091007070813281229.post-90529578170049752442023-02-15T02:00:00.007-08:002023-02-22T22:55:49.397-08:003 Cottagecore Inspired Dress to Sew for Barbie<p style="text-align: justify;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtqWfA7qwcrKwF85Wa0t8mkJe7e3pGKYmUPv75LPsKp7KVSEB5Sb-fBhXLdRXjJTk6LBjr1hnnem65mfjZ6VVuE9pAS9SjaDVZWpHvqPESohvzcCBfHlqBlQwQLR3u2nKfv2PNP1rYa85UisBNcaZ50vDZyahni42f6kRcoxeJzzrGfLEpcIWbsCw/s1500/Barbie%20Cottagecore%20Dress.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1000" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtqWfA7qwcrKwF85Wa0t8mkJe7e3pGKYmUPv75LPsKp7KVSEB5Sb-fBhXLdRXjJTk6LBjr1hnnem65mfjZ6VVuE9pAS9SjaDVZWpHvqPESohvzcCBfHlqBlQwQLR3u2nKfv2PNP1rYa85UisBNcaZ50vDZyahni42f6kRcoxeJzzrGfLEpcIWbsCw/w266-h400/Barbie%20Cottagecore%20Dress.png" width="266" /></a></div><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Unless you live under a rock (or don't have a social media account), you've probably heard about this aesthetic in passing. Like <i><u><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2021/11/e-boy-style-to-make-for-your-ken-doll.html">the E-boy aesthetic</a></u></i>, Cottagecore also blew up on Tiktok among millenials and Gen Z. It's an aesthetic that celebrates rural life, finding joy in traditional skills like baking, gardening, sewing, and pottery that promote self-reliance and sustainable living. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: arial;">That simple lifestyle echoed in its fashion, as cottagecore takes inspiration from western agricultural life. Peasant silhouettes we often see on a Disney princess, like flowy dresses and loose-fitting skirts, are a must for this aesthetic. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: arial;">And I'm all about making barbie a princess so here's my attempt at emulating this whimsical aesthetic. Below are the 3 barbie dresses you can sew that are cottagecore inspired:</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="font-size: large;">1. </span>If you ever search Google for a "cottagecore dress," best believe this milkmaid dress is the first to show up, so it's only natural that I make a Barbie version of this dress. This dress has all the elements a cottagecore dress should have: billowing balloon sleeves, a milkmaid neckline, and feminine silhouettes.</span></p><div><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span><div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQBcsA3XWW0H-Ue61iuBTRQUmss-EcdEekfNPb5JMycpDuS7E-UYNhu3PNgmPROaC-iSpjcAVaYmh7vtCVWOp66pVNzP9Km2iQItjWluKD0yxAtarntdB4EkUQYoIuqixYnULR4VbaMBOkxpaeU-kG2170BkyOc-5TFBxAjXfnvpIeODAfqbnQwKU/s1080/1675749738471.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="Barbie dress, Cottagecore dress, cottagecore aesthetic" border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1080" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQBcsA3XWW0H-Ue61iuBTRQUmss-EcdEekfNPb5JMycpDuS7E-UYNhu3PNgmPROaC-iSpjcAVaYmh7vtCVWOp66pVNzP9Km2iQItjWluKD0yxAtarntdB4EkUQYoIuqixYnULR4VbaMBOkxpaeU-kG2170BkyOc-5TFBxAjXfnvpIeODAfqbnQwKU/w400-h266/1675749738471.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;">same dress pattern but with 2 different style of skirt</span></td></tr></tbody></table><br /></div><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">A good thing about this dress pattern is that it's customizable; you can modify the skirt to how you want it. I made a video tutorial on YouTube on how you can do it; the link is down below.</span></p><div><blockquote style="text-align: left;"><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><span style="color: #800180;">Video Tutorial:</span> <i><u><a href="https://youtu.be/hhxloFzLYJE" style="background-color: #ead1dc;" target="_blank">Barbie Tries Cottagecore Aesthetic</a></u></i></span></p><span style="font-family: arial; text-align: center;"><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800180;">Patterns:</span> <span style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><u><i><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1--FJbvti3M-REdNUgvXpMCw3hT0gNavL/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank">Barbie Cottagecore Dress -Top</a></i></u><br /><i><u><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2hMN_0KH3KW-0BeYNeth0c6qzOPpXJC/view" target="_blank">Barbie Cottagecore Dress - Skirt</a></u></i></span></p></span></blockquote><p style="text-align: center;"> <span style="font-family: arial;">Don't know how to print doll patterns? This dress is actually a stand-alone top that can also be modified into a dress. It's also a flowy dress, but the difference is that it doesn't have puff sleeves like the first two dresses above. And what's a more fitting aesthetic for her than Y2K?</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">What is Y2K?</h4><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Y2K (short for the year 2000) is first known as a computer bug that is thought to cause computers to stop working once we reach the year 2000. But nowadays, it's more associated with a fashion aesthetic based on popular trends from the late 1990s to the early 2000s.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">The Y2K aesthetic takes a lot of inspiration from the pop icons of that era, like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Destiny's Child. and classic movies like Clueless, Mean Girls, etc. My personal favorite are the Bratz dolls, which really personified the Y2K style.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilo-LAerdc8zwFIJTdcdjMHi64-XSKGlWK4Rtml4qf-Ni7N01LvCXr8cytoM-V6s49X2wZeM7ObfUd0crZoWB1iH733xelJnzzT1AQwrahnMOZudl56FiDh6tNds4Tof56-WPE8t9tF_xSb664zLh0fisU5AbPqqBEDz63oH7tLVl9ZkR8NXfGCPs/s1835/Picsart_22-05-04_14-52-56-890.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="1835" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilo-LAerdc8zwFIJTdcdjMHi64-XSKGlWK4Rtml4qf-Ni7N01LvCXr8cytoM-V6s49X2wZeM7ObfUd0crZoWB1iH733xelJnzzT1AQwrahnMOZudl56FiDh6tNds4Tof56-WPE8t9tF_xSb664zLh0fisU5AbPqqBEDz63oH7tLVl9ZkR8NXfGCPs/w400-h330/Picsart_22-05-04_14-52-56-890.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">There are so many looks I could pull off from this aesthetic, but I settled for two outfits for Barbie. One is this slip dress that I've seen a lot on Pinterest when searching for Y2K style. It's so feminine and cute that I just need to recreate it for Barbie.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrIvvfC-fix_Ei7_evg4pMF5FHC3MvOHMShcYrDp_62Lwq-vfmEIWNGIUJvfyAox35zDs3rNXTxHzVtOQ3qsEfN4Nj9pKgPMOXBuECvT84ERlFSSpxWDOxDlPhUBV7VaBIyQZdJys9HPYF25tHJiDe1lNs1HzXeJeqNq9rVWmKEgSpv72nrDeJqe8/s2081/Picsart_22-04-23_10-01-26-583.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2081" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrIvvfC-fix_Ei7_evg4pMF5FHC3MvOHMShcYrDp_62Lwq-vfmEIWNGIUJvfyAox35zDs3rNXTxHzVtOQ3qsEfN4Nj9pKgPMOXBuECvT84ERlFSSpxWDOxDlPhUBV7VaBIyQZdJys9HPYF25tHJiDe1lNs1HzXeJeqNq9rVWmKEgSpv72nrDeJqe8/w400-h291/Picsart_22-04-23_10-01-26-583.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Animal prints are synonymous with the Y2K aesthetic, so I made another version of this dress in a cheetah print. And what better way than to start with the something big. Let's sew the </span><span style="font-family: arial;">most popular aesthetic to come from TikTok, the E-boy aesthetic</span></p><p style="text-align: left;"><br /></p><div><h4 style="text-align: left;">What is an E-boy?</h4><div><br /></div><p style="text-align: left;"></p><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">E-boy (technically means 'electronic boy') are a youth subculture that you see a lot on social media specifically TikTok. They have a middle part hair, painted black nails and wears a lot of black oversized shirts. Their style really reminds me of the late 2000's emo style but mixed in with other alternative fashions like scene, goth, grunge and punk.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Although e-boys have a bad reputation (my guess is for making cringy tiktok videos) I do love their fashion style, so we'll try recreating them for Ken</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial;">I have 2 styles you can choose from, both equally easy to make</span></div><p></p><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">1. Summer Dress</h4><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I honestly don't know what else to call this. This style of puff sleeves looks good in a short sleeves, hence the name summer dress.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q5ruM0Tkt-s/YIwb13KBZSI/AAAAAAAADSE/IyFMJsbPffUURY-uhHIQUYF2vM4Mp-rlQCPcBGAsYHg/s1152/PicsArt_04-30-10.08.13.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q5ruM0Tkt-s/YIwb13KBZSI/AAAAAAAADSE/IyFMJsbPffUURY-uhHIQUYF2vM4Mp-rlQCPcBGAsYHg/w200-h320/PicsArt_04-30-10.08.13.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zdCHeui6_SM/YIwb1xVZgSI/AAAAAAAADSE/0Ro8lWpDPH4Ec8X-qxuszgg-UsqYJmvdwCPcBGAsYHg/s1174/PicsArt_04-30-10.01.33.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1174" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zdCHeui6_SM/YIwb1xVZgSI/AAAAAAAADSE/0Ro8lWpDPH4Ec8X-qxuszgg-UsqYJmvdwCPcBGAsYHg/w196-h320/PicsArt_04-30-10.01.33.jpg" width="196" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Try pulling down the sleeves for a different look</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><h4 style="text-align: left;">2. Puffy Sleeves</h4><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Compare to the first dress above, both the top and bottom sleeves are puff sleeves. A small piece of advice, if you want the skirt to be extra puffy. Try adding a second layer of fabric onto the skirt</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OM6K6xOegms/YIwip27MfEI/AAAAAAAADSg/fyBjdcDqEFMj1xzsC0RfGJZTHgJ9Zu6CQCPcBGAsYHg/s1198/PicsArt_04-30-10.04.46.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1198" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OM6K6xOegms/YIwip27MfEI/AAAAAAAADSg/fyBjdcDqEFMj1xzsC0RfGJZTHgJ9Zu6CQCPcBGAsYHg/w192-h320/PicsArt_04-30-10.04.46.jpg" width="192" /></a></div><br /><h4 style="text-align: justify;">3. Balloon Dress</h4><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now this is the same as the second dress except the sleeves are short. The short puff sleeves kinda form a balloon shape on the arms, which is freaking cute if I say so myself.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wHPkI1speWQ/YIwlNJinrKI/AAAAAAAADS4/0G_06CWxtGMTVXqvpHfTM0ab5H_9fE7EQCPcBGAsYHg/s1150/PicsArt_04-30-11.38.50.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1150" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wHPkI1speWQ/YIwlNJinrKI/AAAAAAAADS4/0G_06CWxtGMTVXqvpHfTM0ab5H_9fE7EQCPcBGAsYHg/w201-h320/PicsArt_04-30-11.38.50.jpg" width="201" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">You can make these 3 dresses with the pattern I made below. Oh how time flies, can't believe this year is finally over. I'm kinda disappointed with myself because I never got to do a lot of things this year. I come up with so many ideas and projects but it all ended down the bin. Hopefully I can do better next year.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">On another note, I hope you all enjoy this adorable dress pattern I made for mini dolls. I honestly can't think of anything to name them but basically they're dolls standing 4 1/2 inches tall (e. g. Kelly, Miki & Maki, Evi Love dolls, etc.) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: center;"><i><u><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qvh2v1NWp8IZUECzfTfuaCMfT-AxoksQ/view?usp=drivesdk" target="_blank">Mini Doll Dress Pattern</a></u></i></div></blockquote><p style="text-align: center;">(Don't know how to print my patterns? Check out <u><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2020/09/how-to-print-doll-pattern.html?m=1" target="_blank">this post!</a>)</u></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><div style="text-align: justify;">This is probably the easiest doll clothes I made this year. Can be hand sewn and quick to make (I finish it within an hour) . I even come up with so many pretty outfits.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><h4 style="text-align: left;">1. Make it Simple</h4><div><br /></div><div>If you follow my pattern, this is how it will turn out. Its simple but very cute. You can change it up by adding ribbons, beads or a bit of embroidery</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wyBROzwNwq8/X97aYgNYqzI/AAAAAAAADN4/jDCGfEywrXoDoFYTnKDemTVxHRW_gnW1gCPcBGAsYHg/s1916/PicsArt_12-20-12.11.30.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1247" data-original-width="1916" height="260" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wyBROzwNwq8/X97aYgNYqzI/AAAAAAAADN4/jDCGfEywrXoDoFYTnKDemTVxHRW_gnW1gCPcBGAsYHg/w400-h260/PicsArt_12-20-12.11.30.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><h4 style="text-align: left;">2. Add Prints</h4></div><div><br /></div><div>Try switching the fabric of the skirt or top to a different color or something with prints. It gives an illusion that they're a separate outfit altogether. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Tgv-yTah88/X97coX8PTAI/AAAAAAAADOE/mxJDPURs8X0AJx0bXbBNwF_CzzuV6fDIgCPcBGAsYHg/s2344/PicsArt_12-20-12.13.46.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2344" height="258" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Tgv-yTah88/X97coX8PTAI/AAAAAAAADOE/mxJDPURs8X0AJx0bXbBNwF_CzzuV6fDIgCPcBGAsYHg/w400-h258/PicsArt_12-20-12.13.46.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><h4 style="text-align: left;">3. More Ruffles</h4><div><br /></div><div>Sewing ruffles to the skirt or sleeves just add that extra cuteness. You can even add an apron to top it off. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dRzpNYRVkyw/X97dGf5HOPI/AAAAAAAADOM/YS4sHDqvky4BtLpLfuvgqomKziM5NeX-gCPcBGAsYHg/s2479/PicsArt_12-20-12.12.18.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2479" height="244" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dRzpNYRVkyw/X97dGf5HOPI/AAAAAAAADOM/YS4sHDqvky4BtLpLfuvgqomKziM5NeX-gCPcBGAsYHg/w400-h244/PicsArt_12-20-12.12.18.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><h4 style="text-align: left;">4. Change up the Skirt</h4></div><div><br /></div><div>This is probably my favorite, its just makes you look like a princess. Different Necklines</h4></div><div><br /></div><div>Just changing the neckline gives the whole outfit a different style. <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm back to sewing again. The one hobby that helps me cope with what is happening over the world. With the pandemic still looming over us on top of the other problems, this helps me relax and pass the time.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I mostly make barbie clothes but I do own other dolls as well. Thats why this time, I made one for Licca-chan's.</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: center;"><u><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HzT8UrNmeBkAGEkzUTwQXJjD1Sb2LFJq/view?usp=drivesdk">Licca-chan Dress Pattern here</a></u></blockquote>

Blythes, etc.) </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: justify;">You can also alter it to your liking like change the collar, add beads or play with different fabrics. Here is the <a href="https://youtu.be/8g5xJMObxFM"><i>link to a video</i></a> I made showing how I sew 3 different dresses with only this one pattern</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: justify;">That is all for this post, I hope you like this dress pattern for Licca-chan. Its a lot different than what I usually do, but I will definitely make more so stay tuned! </p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><div style="text-align: center;">Thanks for reading~</div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>justinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16442516584208687705noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091007070813281229.post-22314847445857421402020-07-15T00:30:00.171-07:002020-11-17T02:09:39.662-08:00Simple Tank Top And Short For Ken<div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3EhdjwYIzQo/X7Nid1TfytI/AAAAAAAABYU/S13eVyDfDn09pj8ynyeK1r9Ldfsba1mCgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1500/20201117_133722_0000.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1000" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3EhdjwYIzQo/X7Nid1TfytI/AAAAAAAABYU/S13eVyDfDn09pj8ynyeK1r9Ldfsba1mCgCLcBGAsYHQ/w426-h640/20201117_133722_0000.png" width="426" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Its hard to search clothes pattern for Ken compare to Barbie's so I went ahead and made one myself. Clearly I didn't know what I got myself into because its a lot harder than I thought.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">As you all know, I made my patterns from scratch. And since this is my first time working with a Ken doll, I started making a simple and easy tank top and shorts. Its sounds so easy on paper but it took a lot of failed patterns and modifications to make it fit Ken. And after a lot of struggle, I finally made something decent. And to be honest its not that bad for my first time.</div>

The response on the video is fairly positive so I might make more.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: justify;">My Thoughts</h4><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Its definitely a new experience for me. I've never made mens wear ever, so its not in my comfort zone. Which is good 'cause I like a great challenge. Its very different from Barbie, to the sizes down to fashion style. I'm definitely looking forward to making more complex clothes so watch out for more.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I've been using eco bags or tote bags for years, and my personal favorite are the fold able ones. They're a space saver and can be carried everywhere with you. Its been a part of my everyday life so when my trusty tote bag finally worn out. I had an idea to took it apart,and recreate a new one.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">MATERIALS:</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Ruler</li>
<li>Marker</li>
<li>Tape Measure</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Any fabric, just recycle old fabric lying around in your house</li>
<li>Velcro</li>
<li>Needle & Thread/ Sewing Machine</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">HOW TO:</span></h3>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-weight: 400;">1. Like I said, I took apart my old tote bag and retrace its pattern. Down below are the measurements for the fold able tote bag. Always cut 2 pieces of fabric for the <i>body </i>and the <i>sides</i> of the bag. One will be for the outer fabric and the other for the lining.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f-QJRzlxWyE/XVWhGFJms-I/AAAAAAAADAo/QCIATpRaupIMA-ez3Mt5qmx16D3VEXd5wCKgBGAs/s1600/Foldable%2Btote%2Bbag%2Bpattern.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1350" height="512" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f-QJRzlxWyE/XVWhGFJms-I/AAAAAAAADAo/QCIATpRaupIMA-ez3Mt5qmx16D3VEXd5wCKgBGAs/s640/Foldable%2Btote%2Bbag%2Bpattern.png" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Make sure to add at least a 3/4 inch allowance</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p style="text-align: justify;">2. Line those 2 pieces of fabric together, both good sides facing each other and sew a french seam on the wrong side of the fabric. <div style="text-align: justify;">
I enjoy making miniatures of stuff I love. That's why when I saw this milk carton purse on Pinterest, I couldn't resist creating a miniature version of it :)</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">WHAT YOU NEED:</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Felt</li>
<li>Acrylic Paint</li>
<li>Pencil & ruler</li>
<li>Yarn & crochet hook</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Glue gun</li>
<li>Snap button</li>
</ul>
</div>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></h3>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">HOW TO:</span></h3>
<div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. First thing you need to do is make a pattern. Below are the measurements for the purse. The size fits barbie and other larger dolls like Mell-chan. Just adjust the size accordingly if you want it make it smaller.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8RHX_ahPlY/XUPybsWGnjI/AAAAAAAAC-A/YV9LfOvTuIguMfnH0l245WHUlUTmmtHVQCKgBGAs/s1600/Miniature%2BMilk%2BCarton%2BPurse%2BTemplate_07-25-02.31.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1350" height="512" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b8RHX_ahPlY/XUPybsWGnjI/AAAAAAAAC-A/YV9LfOvTuIguMfnH0l245WHUlUTmmtHVQCKgBGAs/s640/Miniature%2BMilk%2BCarton%2BPurse%2BTemplate_07-25-02.31.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2. Trace it on the felt and paint the labels with acrylic paint. Once it dries, glue everything with glue gun. I put the link below for the video tutorial I made, go watch it for a clearer tutorial. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><blockquote><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Milk Purse Video Tutorial <i><u><a href="https://youtu.be/iLRTUmn_YtE" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a></u></i></div></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
3. As for the straps, take out a yarn and start making a single chain crochet long enough for the doll. Sew it on the sides of the bag and your done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That's it, Love how it turns out. Hope you like this mini DIY. Be sure to share and recreate this as well :)</div>

<br />
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make this cute kitty bonnet. Perfect for your blythes, pullip or tangkou dolls.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">WHAT YOU NEED:</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>faux fur</li>
<li>paper & pencil</li>
<li>ribbon</li>
<li>scissors</li>
<li>needle & thread</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></h3>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">HOW TO:</span></h3>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large; font-weight: 400;">1. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">First step is to make a pattern. Place your blythe doll or in my case my tangkou doll sideways on a piece of paper and begin tracing its head. After you have the size, start drawing around it to look like a bonnet kinda like the picture below. </span><br />
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yKpDb0oR8ZQ/XNkVUBEopHI/AAAAAAAAC4s/ErfuA8eRSrIMp4lMQK7zyCphzgdqJWbgQCKgBGAs/s1600/PicsArt_05-13-10.26.27_compress_22.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1254" data-original-width="1600" height="312" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yKpDb0oR8ZQ/XNkVUBEopHI/AAAAAAAAC4s/ErfuA8eRSrIMp4lMQK7zyCphzgdqJWbgQCKgBGAs/s400/PicsArt_05-13-10.26.27_compress_22.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-size: large;">2. </span>If your satisfied with the pattern, cut and start tracing it onto the faux fur or the cloth of your choice. This will leave you with 4 patterns (2 for faux fur and 2 for lining). Don't forget to add extra allowances.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mn06AciLZng/XNkWVji1mEI/AAAAAAAAC5E/zzGSKRd0CW8puNbUyVa49-WJJ1up2jOUQCKgBGAs/s1600/PicsArt_05-13-10.31.02_compress_29.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1171" data-original-width="1600" height="292" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mn06AciLZng/XNkWVji1mEI/AAAAAAAAC5E/zzGSKRd0CW8puNbUyVa49-WJJ1up2jOUQCKgBGAs/s400/PicsArt_05-13-10.31.02_compress_29.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-size: large;">3. </span>Next, sew the patterns together then connect the lining to the fur with the good sides facing each other. Stop when your half way to the end and flip them from the inside. With this you finally have a bonnet</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3yQYyyww3Zg/XNkWfPssMDI/AAAAAAAAC5I/KFhBkvZUXxwukZHY2INKZUOHbIDi3ZSjwCKgBGAs/s1600/PicsArt_05-13-10.33.40_compress_58.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3yQYyyww3Zg/XNkWfPssMDI/AAAAAAAAC5I/KFhBkvZUXxwukZHY2INKZUOHbIDi3ZSjwCKgBGAs/s400/PicsArt_05-13-10.33.40_compress_58.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gepH2_7HGYg/XNkWfNxeTKI/AAAAAAAAC5I/vtp8CJ6xsesZ_fC6tDTdbyIQfPL6cUEqACKgBGAs/s1600/PicsArt_05-13-10.36.38_compress_6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gepH2_7HGYg/XNkWfNxeTKI/AAAAAAAAC5I/vtp8CJ6xsesZ_fC6tDTdbyIQfPL6cUEqACKgBGAs/s400/PicsArt_05-13-10.36.38_compress_6.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">sew the bottom after flipping it over</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-size: large;">4. </span>For the cat ears, cut 2 triangles from the faux fur. Fold the triangle good side to good side and sew the one part closed then flip it. Do this to the other triangle to make 2 small cat ears, then sew them both on the bonnet. Be sure to try it on the blythe doll first to know where to place the cat ears.</span><br />
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-size: large;">5. </span>Cut 2 pieces of ribbon and sew them on the ends of the bonnet. Then add a cute bow for the last touch and your done!</span><br />
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TEcncW-M7O0/XNkjTZJYtKI/AAAAAAAAC5w/yNig1xvUSVcLujt5iWcjVK7OcDNEWiRdACLcBGAs/s1600/kitty%2Bbonnet03.10.02_compress_22.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TEcncW-M7O0/XNkjTZJYtKI/AAAAAAAAC5w/yNig1xvUSVcLujt5iWcjVK7OcDNEWiRdACLcBGAs/s640/kitty%2Bbonnet03.10.02_compress_22.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Making a bonnet for dolls is a lot simple than it looks, you can even change it up into other animal ears ie. rabbits or panda. Hope you like this tutorial and happy crafting!</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: justify;">Buying preloved dolls can either be a hit or a miss. A hit when you found it in pristine condition. And a miss when the doll looks so bad like this. Hopefully I can fix her up like my <u><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2018/10/removing-melted-rubber-band-on-dolls-hair.html">previous ruined doll.</a></u></span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The stains are cause by the dye in her hair </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />WHAT YOU NEED:</span></h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Benzoyl Peroxide </li>
<li>Cotton buds</li>
</ul>
<br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">PROCEDURE:</span></h3>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">I found a lot of ways on the internet but this method is the most effective for any stains and dyes on dolls. All you need is benzoyl peroxide or commonly known as acne cream. You can find this product mostly on drugstores, I got mine from Mercury drugs for 380 Pesos. Crazy expensive if you ask me, so this better works.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3hP7bB2pTqw/XKmH30eXDpI/AAAAAAAAC0k/XKOYOpMGkDg7XprDSsTLzqLIMxCQxyjZACEwYBhgL/s1600/Benzoyl%2Bperoxide_03-28-05.16.48.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Benzoyl peroxide, acne crean, how to remove doll stains" border="0" data-original-height="1104" data-original-width="1600" height="275" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3hP7bB2pTqw/XKmH30eXDpI/AAAAAAAAC0k/XKOYOpMGkDg7XprDSsTLzqLIMxCQxyjZACEwYBhgL/s400/Benzoyl%2Bperoxide_03-28-05.16.48.jpg" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">1.</span> First, apply a generous amount of benzoyl peroxide on the stained parts using cotton buds<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8d7i9MqUN90/XKmIU7GG-hI/AAAAAAAAC0o/Hi0Y67IgSm0tbhC7weUNs28mqG_mYJNRQCLcBGAs/s1600/How%2Bto%2Bremoved%2Bdoll%2Bstains_03-29-07.04.28.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8d7i9MqUN90/XKmIU7GG-hI/AAAAAAAAC0o/Hi0Y67IgSm0tbhC7weUNs28mqG_mYJNRQCLcBGAs/s400/How%2Bto%2Bremoved%2Bdoll%2Bstains_03-29-07.04.28.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">2. </span>Next, set the doll outside directly on sunlight for the peroxide to activate. This will help lighten the stains on the doll.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">3. </span>Leave it for a day or until the sun is out. Then remove the cream with soap and water. At this point, you can see the stains has lighten up or just about gone. If you still have stubborn stains showing just repeat the steps above until its all gone.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RwuiTDlSpKU/XKmH0d38znI/AAAAAAAAC0g/wdT35RjuKAofZfhfi1TH7P8VuWtN55kSQCEwYBhgL/s1600/How%2Bto%2Bremoved%2Bdoll%2Bstains_03-29-07.31.40.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RwuiTDlSpKU/XKmH0d38znI/AAAAAAAAC0g/wdT35RjuKAofZfhfi1TH7P8VuWtN55kSQCEwYBhgL/s400/How%2Bto%2Bremoved%2Bdoll%2Bstains_03-29-07.31.40.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Took me 3 days to removed all the stains</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tip: A faster way to lighten the stains is by covering the cream with clear plastic before setting it out in the sun. That keeps the benzoyl peroxide from drying out fast</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Something I notice with using benzoyl peroxide is it tends to bleach the dolls skin. So be careful when using this on darker skinned dolls, for it may cause discoloration if you leave the cream too long. Anyways, thanks for reading this 'till the end and hopefully this post is helpful.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
So recently, I bought a preloved Jenny doll online. And while I was gushing over how cute she is in real life, I was shocked to find a patch of melted rubber on top of her hair. Its stuck on her like a gum that it made me helpless and frustrated to just chop her hair off.</div>

Good thing I didn't though, 'cause a quick search on google and advise from my friends. I manage to removed it with just these two common items</div>

<br />
<ul>
<li>Conditioner</li>
<li>Comb (flea comb if possible)</li>
</ul>
<br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">PROCEDURE:</span></h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">1.</span> Wash the dolls hair with lukewarm water</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2.</span> Apply a generous amount of conditioner on the part where the melted rubber band is. Leave it to soak for an hour or so.</div>
<br /></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">3.</span> After an hour, do not rinse the conditioner off. Get a comb instead and gently brush the rubber band out. Work on sections and hold the hair securely while brushing to avoid any hair fall.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">4.</span> Keep brushing until the rubber band is gone then rinse the hair and let it dry.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It may looks easy but you need to be careful and patient when cleaning off the melted rubber. Otherwise, you'll end up ripping the doll's hair.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Incidents like this do happens, either from the climate or the passage of time. Hopefully, this simple trick helps the next time you spot a melted rubber band on your dolls hair.</div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Du0N8CirFBk/W0IhtI0y4cI/AAAAAAAAAV4/2I-5NWSAaG8M7yf3mDD79J2q5Mcm_bJLwCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo_20180522_223157-1-1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="698" data-original-width="413" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Du0N8CirFBk/W0IhtI0y4cI/AAAAAAAAAV4/2I-5NWSAaG8M7yf3mDD79J2q5Mcm_bJLwCLcBGAs/s400/Photo_20180522_223157-1-1.png" width="235" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm all about saving and being thrifty, so as much as possible I recycle things for all its worth. A perfect example is how I made this adorable kitty headband with just the leftover fabrics I have from my <u><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2018/05/diy-faux-fur-bag.html">previous refashion</a></u>.<br />

<br />
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: normal;">WHAT YOU NEED:</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RHKerdH8msE/W0IjGM2xj-I/AAAAAAAAAWE/WWjV9az7SSMnFyZW7fTKzm28nLaQTPSHACLcBGAs/s1600/0eb60e27-5cf6-466e-ba05-080351da7434.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1052" data-original-width="1600" height="263" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RHKerdH8msE/W0IjGM2xj-I/AAAAAAAAAWE/WWjV9az7SSMnFyZW7fTKzm28nLaQTPSHACLcBGAs/s400/0eb60e27-5cf6-466e-ba05-080351da7434.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Fur fabric</li>
<li>Lining fabric or any thin fabric will do</li>
<li>Stretchy fabric (optional) </li>
<li>Garter </li>
<li>Needle and thread</li>
<li>Ruler</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
</ul>
<br /></div>
<h3>
<span style="font-weight: normal;">HOW TO MAKE:</span></h3>
<div>
<span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">1.</span> First, measure how long the headband will be. It should cover at least half of your head. I made mine 18 inches in length and 2 inches in width. Don't forget to add at least half an inch of allowance on each sides.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ol>
</ol>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d9kwTIoxJqQ/W0IkrdFBHWI/AAAAAAAAAWc/c2mB6hUf67Yrh4yOIAEWhXnqhyd343KgQCLcBGAs/s1600/9aa05273-ec26-46cc-8bc5-36a1ce76ef57.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d9kwTIoxJqQ/W0IkrdFBHWI/AAAAAAAAAWc/c2mB6hUf67Yrh4yOIAEWhXnqhyd343KgQCLcBGAs/s400/9aa05273-ec26-46cc-8bc5-36a1ce76ef57.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2.</span><b> </b>After the patterns are made, cut and sew them together with both right sides facing each other. Then turn it over to get the basic headband.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">3.</span><b> </b>For the cat ears, draw a small triangle on a piece of paper and trace that on the fur fabric. Create about 4 triangles and connect 2 of those together to make a pair of cat ears.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-udAgwikIG0M/W0ImYoYaCUI/AAAAAAAAAW4/h8BvDuLUDD47jXVoFYHHnp0pf16YCJcxwCEwYBhgL/s1600/531976ec-eac5-49f9-9649-a943d9a74169.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1173" data-original-width="1600" height="293" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-udAgwikIG0M/W0ImYoYaCUI/AAAAAAAAAW4/h8BvDuLUDD47jXVoFYHHnp0pf16YCJcxwCEwYBhgL/s400/531976ec-eac5-49f9-9649-a943d9a74169.png" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The headband and cat ears should look like this </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">4.</span> Once your done with the cat ears, the question now is how to attach it. I first pin the cat ears onto the headband, then handsew it securely with needle and thread. Its a great idea to try the headband on while pinning the ears in place to position it accurately and avoid readjusting it everytime you sew.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-adETdrmiOgY/W0IqUvhTbdI/AAAAAAAAAXY/iLMK_YChB6k6rGvqVQC3dUzVvCPogHXywCLcBGAs/s1600/c356ef80-beca-440b-840c-8397af395316.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1177" data-original-width="1600" height="294" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-adETdrmiOgY/W0IqUvhTbdI/AAAAAAAAAXY/iLMK_YChB6k6rGvqVQC3dUzVvCPogHXywCLcBGAs/s400/c356ef80-beca-440b-840c-8397af395316.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">5. </span>Lastly, cut a small piece of garter and stitch it on both ends of the headband. I'm not sure how long I cut the garter, but it should be long enough so the headband wouldn't fall off on your head. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This next part is optional, I wanted a more clean finished so I cut a stretchy fabric of a similar color to cover the garter. Its up you if you want to follow this step but just the garter will also do just fine.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IGcaf44igyc/W0IsKmJv31I/AAAAAAAAAXk/qYMklS-7FyM-yVDhaw040PE-EQsjfJ10gCLcBGAs/s1600/3c94d14d-8ab1-47d0-94f9-e248b553b646.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="Cat ears headband, fur" border="0" data-original-height="1323" data-original-width="1600" height="330" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IGcaf44igyc/W0IsKmJv31I/AAAAAAAAAXk/qYMklS-7FyM-yVDhaw040PE-EQsjfJ10gCLcBGAs/s400/3c94d14d-8ab1-47d0-94f9-e248b553b646.png" title="Kitty headband" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">About 95% done..</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">6.</span><b> </b>Your basically finish at this point, but I still feel that its missing something. So I glam it up a bit more by adding beads and buttons and your done! Decorating it a little do bring more color and makes the headband extra cute.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rs3eTJkLgwM/W0MPpFEVObI/AAAAAAAAAYM/6-hfcUMD1WglmSREJB-MjSuBCcvyUWj0gCLcBGAs/s1600/8c534af0-f233-4d82-ad3d-e25f25db2327.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rs3eTJkLgwM/W0MPpFEVObI/AAAAAAAAAYM/6-hfcUMD1WglmSREJB-MjSuBCcvyUWj0gCLcBGAs/s400/8c534af0-f233-4d82-ad3d-e25f25db2327.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And that's the end of it, I hope you found this post helpful. I had a blast making this kitty headband. Not only is it cute, its surprisingly easy to make. Who would have thought I made this with just the leftovers.</div>

These days I see myself browsing at clothes with ruffles all over them. I see a ton of them on social media and I honestly find these type of style pretty and eye catching.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And I'm so into them lately that I couldn't resist not to create one myself. And for that, I will be using this white button up shirt that some of you might be familiar with since I <u><a href="https://www.maridolli.com/2018/01/how-to-make-cut-out-shoulder-top.html">refashion a similar shirt before</a></u></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pRFMMGKRWHA/WxgKFCE4DZI/AAAAAAAAAR4/WJA1mBaxJSUPDxSzVyU7wOfODwMWjaOwQCKgBGAs/s1600/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1093" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pRFMMGKRWHA/WxgKFCE4DZI/AAAAAAAAAR4/WJA1mBaxJSUPDxSzVyU7wOfODwMWjaOwQCKgBGAs/s400/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B01.jpg" width="272" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Similar shirt but in a different color<br />
<a name='more'></a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now to get started, I first removed all the embellishments on the shirt. I wanted the ruffles to be the main focus here so everything has to go, leaving me with this blank white canvas.</div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: justify;">Next I shorten the shirt by making another bottom just slightly higher than its original, and cut off the excess fabric.</span><br />
<div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1L6gZdui40/WxgKah2LreI/AAAAAAAAASA/HVFLEbm-s4k9RmGg9EqctWm5Tn84JThigCKgBGAs/s1600/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B02.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1216" data-original-width="1600" height="302" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1L6gZdui40/WxgKah2LreI/AAAAAAAAASA/HVFLEbm-s4k9RmGg9EqctWm5Tn84JThigCKgBGAs/s400/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B02.png" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Now its just a boring plain shirt</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And with that excess fabric, I cut out a ton of long strips that will later turn into ruffles. I don't have much fabric to work with so the strips wasn't as wide as I hope for. Which is too bad but hopefully this is enough to cover the shirt.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zn4EnjMlTc4/WxgMHi2UGjI/AAAAAAAAASM/IcwqO-tMI0gpP6o9HcSiI_Gy3no94CP1ACKgBGAs/s1600/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B03.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1132" data-original-width="1600" height="282" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zn4EnjMlTc4/WxgMHi2UGjI/AAAAAAAAASM/IcwqO-tMI0gpP6o9HcSiI_Gy3no94CP1ACKgBGAs/s400/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B03.png" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Cut..</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now to make the ruffles, I first hem the edges for both sides of the strips. Then at the top part, I sew 2 parallel lines close to each other in the longest stitch length my sewing machine has to offer. After that, gently pull the 2nd stitch for the fabric to gather and turn into ruffles.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-arRQi7qyoGE/WxgfnAwx-vI/AAAAAAAAAS4/nDEf3WMKj0sSQHWaVeTQI5dhYBiaHHRQgCKgBGAs/s1600/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B04.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-arRQi7qyoGE/WxgfnAwx-vI/AAAAAAAAAS4/nDEf3WMKj0sSQHWaVeTQI5dhYBiaHHRQgCKgBGAs/s400/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B04.png" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Only pull the 2nd line</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-19HcH4W0l-c/WxgfnEVEYLI/AAAAAAAAAS4/fh5t7qZpCVI0sMA9w8jjPFFE18avXaewgCKgBGAs/s1600/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B05.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1274" data-original-width="1600" height="317" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-19HcH4W0l-c/WxgfnEVEYLI/AAAAAAAAAS4/fh5t7qZpCVI0sMA9w8jjPFFE18avXaewgCKgBGAs/s400/Ruffled%2Bshirt%2B05.png" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">What the ruffles should look like</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So how do we attached the ruffles? With a seam reaper, I removed the seams from the front shirt all the way to the top of the armholes. Then I pinned the ruffles there in place and sew.<br />
<br />
Its kind of alarming how little fabric I can work with. But thankfully, the ruffles I made were enough to cover the front and a bit of the shoulders on the back.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I line the part where the ruffles would go</td></tr>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lastly, I shorten the sleeves a bit and hem the bottom. I also decided to removed the collar at the last minute and were done!</div>

</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have one word to describe this top, beautiful! I didn't expect it will turn out so great. The ruffles really did made the shirt look a hundred times cuter. It looks feminine and stylish, nothing like the plain shirt from before. This is by far my favorite refashion hands down!</div>
